The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester represented the Queen at the Guildhall Banquet for President Juan Manuel Santos of Colombia on the evening of November 2nd. The President and First Lady of Colombia are on a 5-day State Visit to the United Kingdom. The Banquet was hosted by the Lord Mayor of London. There were speeches by President Santos and the Lord Mayor.
President and First Lady Santos of Colombia were welcomed by the Lord Mayor of London, the Lady Mayoress, and the Duke & Duchess of Gloucester, who represented the Queen, who traditionally doesn’t attend Guildhall Banquets. They toured the Guildhall Art Gallery, where the President signed a book of distinguished guests to the city of London, before proceeding to the Banqueting Hall. Both the Lord Mayor and President Santos gave speeches.
The Duchess of Gloucester wore a blue gown with the Gloucester Honeysuckle tiara, diamond earrings, necklace, and brooches.. The Duke of Gloucester wore White Tie with the sash of the Order of the Garter. The Lady Mayoress wore a red gown with tiara.
