Recently, I was ecstatic to discover one of favorite documentaries; “De Kongelige Juveler” (roughly translated to ‘The Royal Jewels‘) back on YouTube. This is one of the best programs to gain firsthand information about the royal jewels of Europe. Christening of Prince Alexander of Sweden
Prince Alexander of Sweden, the son of Prince Carl-Phillip and Princess Sofia, was christened at Drottningholm Palace on September 9th. He was born in April. There was a large Swedish royal presence, including his cousins, the children of Crown Princess Victoria and princess Madeleine. Continue reading
Bolin Ruby Tiara
Commissioned by the Russian Tsar as a wedding gift for his only daughter when she married the son of Queen Victoria of Great Britain, the Ruby Tiara was worn by her descendants from the German Princely Family of Hohenlohe-Langenburg, most notably the sister of the Duke of Edinburgh, before being auctioned in the 1970s. Hanover Emerald Laurel Wreath Tiara
The magnificent Royal Heirloom that was a sentimental gift to a German Empress, before being given as a wedding present to her Hanoverian daughter, who gave it as a wedding present to her Greek daughter-in-law, and despite being sold, it remains in royal possession, being owned by the former wife of the pretender to the Austrian throne, the Emerald Laurel Wreath Tiara certainly has a distinguished royal history.
