The wedding of the Prince Maximilian of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg to Ms Franziska Balzer took place at the Stadtkirche in Bad Laasphe on August 6th. The reception took place at Schloss Wittgenstein. Many royals attended the ceremony.
The bride was led down the aisle by her father. After posing for pictures outside the Stadtkirche, the couple drove themselves from the ceremony in a vintage car to the reception at Schloss Wittgenstein, home of this branch of the Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg family.
Among the congregation were the groom’s parents, Prince Otto and Princess Annette of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, his sister, Princess Lilly of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, her ex husband, Prince Alexander of Schaumberg Lippe, and their son, Hereditary Prince Henrich of Schaumberg Lippe, as well as Isabel Getty, Count Antonio Ruiz-Berdejo y Sigurta, Princess Elna of Bentheim, Prince and Princess Viktor of Isenburg, and Countess Pauline of Berge Trips.
The bride, now Princess Maximilian of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, wore a cream silk and lace wedding gown with a satin jacket, diamond cluster earrings, and a small fringe tiara, on loan from Bulgari. Prince Maximilian wore morning dress with a light blue tie.
