Thai State Visit to Germany, 1960

Following their State Visit to Britain, King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit of Thailand embarked on a State Visit to West Germany, which ended on this day in 1960, and the highlight of which was a State Banquet in honour of the King and Queen (in her Thai Tiara) at the Schloss Augustenburg in Brühl as well as another Banquet at the Palais Schaumburg in Bonn. West Germany was a stop on King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit’s monumental State Visits around Europe in the Fall of 1960, which included visits to the United Kingdom, Portugal, Switzerland, DenmarkNorwaySweden, Italy, the Vatican, Belgium, France, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, and Spain, eventually ending in November with their return to Thailand.
