Grand Duchess Charlotte and Prince Felix of Luxembourg host King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit of Thailand on this day in 1960, at the start of their State Visit to Luxembourg, the highlight of which was a magnificent Reception attended by the King and Queen (wearing the Order of the Oak Crown) along with the Grand Duchess (wearing her Chaumet Emerald Tiara and the Order of the Royal House of Chakri) and Prince (in the Order of the Royal House of Chakri), as well a State Banquet that we did not get images from. Luxembourg was a stop on King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit’s monumental State Visits around Europe in the Fall of 1960, which included visits to the United Kingdom, Germany, Portugal, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Italy, the Vatican, Belgium, France, The Netherlands, and Spain, eventually ending in November with their return to Thailand.
