The Coronation of Emperor Charles I of Austria as King Charles IV of Hungary at the Matthias Church in Budapest on this day in 1916, when he was accompanied by Empress Zita and Crown Prince Otto. The Coronation was the last grand event of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, just two years before the end of the Monarchy in the dying days of the First World War.
