Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting 2018

The Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, and members of the Royal Family hosted the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) Formal Opening, Reception, and Queen’s Dinner at Buckingham Palace on April 19th. Many expect this to be the Queen’s last CHOGM, as she stopped long-haul travel, and CHOGM is held in a different Commonwealth country every two years. Evolving from the annual Commonwealth Prime Minister’s Conference, the Queen first attended CHOGM in 1973, and despite having no role in the proceedings, the events hosted by the Queen are the highlights of the Meeting. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in Edinburgh

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visited Edinburgh on February 13th, on their first official joint visit to Scotland. They had the opportunity to meet members of the public, learn more about organisations that work in the local community and nationwide, and celebrate youth in the Scottish Year of Young People 2018. Christmas Lunch at Buckingham Palace

The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh hosted their annual Christmas Lunch for members of the extended British Royal Family at Buckingham Palace on December 20th. This lunch is held for those family members who aren’t invited to spend Christmas with the Queen at Sandringham in Norfolk, due to lack of space.
