Reigning and former Royals were among a host of illustrious attendees at the funeral of Duke Friedrich of Württemberg in Altshausen on May 25th. Duke Friedrich, eldest son and heir of Duke Carl of Württemberg and Princess Diane of Orléans, tragically died in a car accident on May 9, and leaves behind a wife, Duchess Marie, née Wied, and three children, Duke Wilhelm, Duchess Marie-Amélie and Duchess Sophie-Dorothée. Funeral of King Michael of Romania
Members of the Romanian Royal Family, Foreign Royalty and Heads of State attended the State Funeral of King Michael of Romania on December 16th. King Michael died in Switzerland on December 5th, at the age of 96. He first became King in 1927, and though he hasn’t been the reigning Head of State since 1947, the Government is giving the late King a State Funeral, in line with the plans to give the Royal Family Official Status in Romania. The Official Cremation Ceremonies of King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand, one of the longest reigning monarchs in the world who had ruled for over 70 years when he died last October, are being celebrated all around Thailand from October 25th to 29th, with the main ceremony in Bangkok on the 26th, which was attended by Foreign Royals and Heads of State. Funeral of Prince Richard of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg
The Funeral of Prince Richard of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg was held at the Evangelische Stadtkirche in Bad Berleburg, Germany on March 21st. Prince Richard, the husband of Princess Benedikte of Denmark and brother-in-law of Queen Margrethe of Denmark and Queen Anne Marie of Greece, died suddenly at Berleburg Castle in Germany on March 14th.
