King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden are on a State Visit to the Republic of Poland from March 10-12, at the invitation of President Karol Nawrocki to confirm and develop the close and very good bilateral relationship between Sweden and Poland.
King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia were received by President Karol Nawrocki and First Lady Marta Nawrocka in an official welcoming ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Piłsudski Square. The King and President gave a Press Conference while the Queen and Mrs. Nawrocka visited the Polish National Opera.
Later, the King and Queen visited the Parliament to meet the Speaker of the Sejm, Włodzimierz Czarzasty, and the Speaker of the Senate, Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, before the Speaker of the Senate held a lunch at the lakeside palace in Łazienki Park. The King and Queen then met members of the Swedish community at a reception held at the Residence of Sweden’s Ambassador to Poland.
In the evening, President Karol Nawrocki and First Lady Marta Nawrocka held a State Banquet for King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw. Both the King and President gave speeches.
Queen Silvia wore the Earrings and Brooch of the Swedish Pink Topaz Parure with King Carl XVI Gustaf’s Portrait Brooch.
