Spanish State Visit to Belgium, 1923

The Belgian Royal Family hosted King Alfonso XIII of Spain and Queen Victoria Eugenie of Spain on their State Visit to Belgium on this day in 1923, 100 years ago, following the ravages of the First World War. The next Spanish State Visit to Belgium was in 1977, with the latest State Visit in 2000.

King Albert I and Queen Elisabeth of Belgium received King Alfonso XIII and Queen Victoria Eugenie in Brussels.

The Spanish King and Queen also posed for an Official Portrait with King Albert I and Queen Elisabeth, as well as Crown Prince Leopold and Prince Charles.

The next Spanish State Visit to Belgium was in 1977, followed by the Belgian State Visit to Spain in 1978, and another State Visit to Spain in 1994, with the latest State Visit to Belgium in 2000.
