The Wedding of Harry Primrose, Lord Dalmeny, Heir of the Earl of Rosebery, and Harriet Clapham (wearing the Rosebery Tiara) at Barnbougle Castle on August 2nd, near the main Family Seat of Dalmeny House. The new Lady Dalmeny is an Art Director while Lord Dalmeny, who was previously married to Caroline, Lady Dalmeny and has five children, is the the Chairman of Sotheby’s in the United Kingdom.
Commissioned by the 5th Earl of Rosebery as a wedding gift for his bride; Hannah de Rothschild, the great heiress said to be the richest women in England, in 1878, the Rosebery Tiara has passed down the family and was worn by current Countess of Rosebery and by the former Lady Dalmeny at quite a few Royal Caledonian Balls. It was recently on display at ‘Power & Image: Royal & Aristocratic Tiaras’ at Sotheby’s in London, where we saw it in May.
