Composed of diamond oak leaves and pearl acorns, the Brooch reflects the oak leaves and acorns in the Middleton family’s coat of arms and was likely a gift from a member of the Middleton family or the Royal Family around the time of Kate Middleton’s wedding to Prince William in 2011. The Brooch made its public debut in 2012, at the Luncheon hosted for Sovereigns from around the world at Windsor Castle.

— Isa (@isaguor) December 25, 2018Since the Duchess rarely wears Brooches, the Diamond and Pearl Acorn Brooch has not been frequently seen, though there have been some notable appearences for Church Services, including Christmas at Sandringham in 2015, Easter at Windsor Castle in 2017 and Christmas at Sandringham in 2018.

The Duchess also wore the Diamond and Pearl Acorn Brooch with Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot Tiara and the Queen Mother’s Sapphire Fringe Earrings, for the American State Banquet at Buckingham Palace, where the Brooch pinned her new sash of the Royal Victorian Order. There is no doubt we will continue to see this splendid Jewel for years to come!

This is an excellent brooch and I’m glad to see that it’s hers and not borrowed. I do hope that she embraces wearing brooches because the Queen has such a magnificent collection it’d be a shame if they didn’t get worn when the Duchess becomes queen herself. Brooches are very unobtrusive and dress up an outfit very quietly and efficiently. Not to mention that many of the Queen’s brooches have significance for a great many countries and organizations, so wearing them honor the givers in a very special way.
