Remembrance Sunday 2021

The Royal Family attended the annual Remembrance Sunday Service at the Cenotaph on Whitehall in London on Remembrance Sunday, November 14th, honouring those who have lost their lives in conflict, with this year marking the Centenary of the unveiling of the Royal British Legion. The Royal Family attended the Royal British Legion’s Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall last night, but the Queen has had to pull out due to a strained back, for only the seventh time during her 70-year reign.

At the beginning of the solemn ceremony, the Royal Family watched Armed Forces personnel form a square around the memorial, which was followed by a 2-minute silence, after which members of the Royal Family; the Prince of Wales, Duke of Cambridge, Princess Royal, and the Earl of Wessex, laid wreaths on the Cenotaph memorial. The Prince of Wales also laid a wreath on behalf of the Queen, for the fourth year in a row. Following the ceremony, the National Anthem played as the Royal Family departed the Ceremony.

  2. This was an excellent coverage of the event! The ladies looked perfect and the gentlemen performed their duties admirably. I am sure the Queen was terribly disappointed not to have been able to attend. I pray for her a quick and complete recovery from her injury.
