The Queen (wearing the Nizam of Hyderabad Brooch) and Duke of Edinburgh were joined by the Queen Mother, Prince and Princess of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of York (in one of Queen Victoria’s Bow Brooches) and Prince Edward at the Braemar Highland Games on this day in 1986, during the Royal Family’s annual Holiday at Balmoral Castle. The newlywed Duke and Duchess of York spent a portion of their honeymoon with the Royal Family at Balmoral after a Cruise on the Royal Yacht Britannia.
