Wedding of the Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg and Princess Margarita of Greece, 1931

The Wedding of Gottfried, the Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg, elder son of Ernst II, the Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg and Princess Alexandra of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, and Princess Margarita of Greece and Denmark, eldest daughter of Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark and Princess Alice of Battenberg, at Schloss Langenburg on this day in 1931,  which was also the 35th Anniversary of his parents. The couple had five children, remaining married until his death in 1960, residing at Schloss Langenburg. The Princess died in 1981.

In addition to various members of the German Nobility, Royal Guests and Relatives in attendance included Prince Andrew, Princess MargaritaPrincess TheodoraPrincess Cecilie, and Prince Phillip of Greece while Princess Alice (then in an asylum) was not present. Queen Marie of Romania (aunt of the groom), Princess Victoria, Marchioness of Milford Haven (grandmother of the bride), Crown Princess Louise of Sweden (aunt of the bride), Grand Duchess Victoria Feodorovna of Russia (aunt of the groom), Grand Duchess Elena Vladimirovna, Princess Nicholas of Greece (aunt of the bride), and Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent (cousin of the bride) were also in attendance. This was the third of the weddings of the four sisters within a few months, after Prince Christoph of Hesse wed Princess Sophie of Greece and Hereditary Grand Duke Georg Donatus of Hesse married Princess Cecilie of Greece.
