King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit of Thailand hosted the Shah of Iran and Empress Farah on their State Visit to Thailand on this day in 1968, which began with an Official Welcome followed that evening with a magnificent State Banquet hosted by the Thai King (wearing the Order of Pahlavi) and Queen (wearing her Diamond Fringe Tiara, Sapphire Parure and the Order of the Pleiades) in honour of the Shah (wearing the Order of the Royal House of Chakri) and Empress Farah (wearing the Seven Emerald Tiara and the Order of the Royal House of Chakri) at the Royal Palace in Bangkok.

The following evening, King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit (wearing her Thai Tiara and the Order of the Pleiades) hosted another Dinner for the Shah (wearing the Order of the Royal House of Chakri) and Empress Farah (wearing the Noor-ol-Ain Tiara and the Order of the Royal House of Chakri) at the Dusit Palace in Bangkok. The visit ended with an informal Dinner and Concert hosted by the Shah and Empress Farah.
