Danish State Visit to Thailand, 1962

King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit of Thailand hosted King Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid of Denmark on their State Visit to Thailand on this day in 1962, which began with an Official Welcome followed that evening with a magnificent State Banquet hosted by the Thai King (in the Order of the Elephant) and Queen (wearing her Emerald Necklace and the Order of the Elephant)  n honour of King Frederik (wearing the Order of the Royal House of Chakri and the Order of Chula Chom Klao) and Queen Ingrid (wearing the Danish Ruby Parure and the Order of the Royal House of Chakri). The Thai Royal Couple had made a State Visit to Denmark in 1960, while the next Danish State Visit to Thailand was in 2001.
