Prince Franz Josef II and Princess Gina of Liechtenstein hosted the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles and Princess Anne at Schloss Vaduz on this day in 1965, during a skiing Holiday in Liechtenstein. The Duke’s sister and brother-in-law, Princess Sophie of Greece and Prince George William of Hannover, were also present in Vaduz. The Princely Family later spoke about their shock at the behaviour of the paparazzi, which led to Prince Charles and Princess Anne being smuggled out of the Castle in trucks to be able ski on the nearby slopes.
