King Constantine II (in the Order of the Redeemer and the Order of Saints George and Constantine) and Queen Anne Marie of Greece (adorned in orders, jewels, and insignia, including her Aquamarine Pendant and Queen Alexandrine’s Diamond Sautoir with the Order of the Redeemer) cut the festive cake at the glittering New Year’s Reception in Athens on this day in 1965, following a service at the Metropolitan Cathedral and a Parade through the streets of Athens, to mark the first New Year’s of King Constantine’s Reign and the first after their marriage.
