He inspected the Parade and presented awards including the Sword of Honour, the Overseas Sword and The Queen’s Medal. The Sovereign’s Parade at the end of each term marks the passing out from Sandhurst of Officer Cadets who have completed the Commissioning Course, a year’s intensive training for 169 officer cadets from the UK and 25 from 19 overseas countries. The King and Queen of Malaysia, who had lunch with the Queen yesterday, were also present, along with many members of their families, for the passing out of their son Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, the Tengku Mahkota and Regent of Pahang. Previously, the Queen has been represented by King Abdullah of Jordan, the Duchess of Cornwall, and the Duke of Cambridge at the Sovereign’s Parade.
