The Wedding of Prince Norihito of Mikasa (nephew of Emperor in the Order of the Chrysanthemum) and Hisako Tottori (wearing her Pearl and Diamond Tiara and Necklace and the Order of the Precious Crown) at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo on this day in 1984, who received the new title of Prince and Princess Takamado. The Prince and Princess had three daughters, and remained happily married until his early death in 2002. Princess Takamado remains an active member of the Imperial Family.
