King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden are embarking on a State Visit to India today, so we are taking a look at some previous Swedish Royal visits to India, including then Crown Prince Gustaf Adolf and Crown Princess Louise’s trip to India in 1926-1927, Prince Wilhelm and Princess Maria’s trip to India in 1911, and their last State Visit to India, in 1993, with highlights including a trip to the Taj Mahal and a State Banquet at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, at which Queen Silvia wore the Modern Fringe Tiara. Crown Princess Victoria visited the Taj Mahal on a visit to India in 2008, holding up a picture of her parents’ visit, amidst stops in Pune, Mumbai and Jodhpur.
