King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of The Netherlands will begin their State Visit to India later today, programme HERE, so we are taking a look at the previous two Dutch State Visits to India, made by Queen Beatrix.

In 1986, Queen Beatrix and Prince Claus undertook an extensive State Visit to India, with events including an Official Welcome and State Banquet hosted by the President in Delhi, a political rally in Allahabad, and a dinner hosted by the Maharaja of Jaipur, also attended by Rajmata Gayatri Devi.

Queen Beatrix was joined by the then Prince of Orange and Princess Máxima on her State Visit to India in 2007, which included an Official Welcome by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, a State Banquet hosted by President Pratibha Patil, and a visit to Bangalore.
