King Juan Carlos (wearing the Order of the Golden Fleece and the Order of the Chrysanthemum) and Queen Sofia (in the Cartier Diamond and Pearl Tiara and the Order of the Precious Crown) of Spain host a State Banquet in honour of Emperor Akihito (wearing the Order of the Golden Fleece) and Empress Michiko (in the Meiji Scroll Tiara and the Order of Charles III) of Japan at the Royal Palace of Madrid on this day in 1994, during their State Visit to Spain. Infanta Elena (wearing the Prussian Diamond Tiara), Infanta Cristina (in the Floral Tiara), Infanta Margarita (wearing her Diamond Brooch Tiara and the Order of Charles III), and the Duke and Duchess of Calabria were also present.
