The Prince and Princess of Wales embarked on their Honeymoon on this day in 1981, following their ‘Wedding of the Century’ at St. Paul’s Cathedral, they rode to Waterloo Station to travel to Romsey for a 3-day stay at Broadlands, the seat of Countess Mountbatten.

Afterwards, the Prince and Princess flew to Gibraltar, where they boarded the Royal Yacht Britannia for an eleven-day cruise of the Mediterranean, visiting Tunisia, Sardinia, Greece and Egypt, from where they took a flight back to Britain.

Then, the Prince and Princess of Wales flew to Scotland, joining the rest of the Royal Family at Balmoral Castle, and spent time in a hunting lodge on the estate. The couple posed for the press at multiple opportunities across their voyage.
