Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in Northern Ireland- Day 2

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visiting Belfast, Fermanagh and Ballymena on a two day visit to Northern Ireland, from February 27-28, where they are celebrating young people. Click HERE for Day 1! Due to security issues, royal visits to Northern Ireland are only announced on the day, and the last one took place in 2016.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met with with officers and staff from the Police Service in Northern Ireland at Hillsborough Castle, to hear about the unique challenges they face, after which they visited charity Cinemagic at the Braid Arts Centre in Ballymena, taking part in some of the workshops to see the full range of training they provide. The Duke and Duchess ended with a day with a visit to Sure Start, a programme that supports parents with children aged under four years old living in disadvantaged areas in Northern Ireland. They saw some of the different programmes that Sure Start provides to support parents and provide best practice for early years work.

  1. That soft blue coat with the capelete is so lovely! But then, the Duchess always looks lovely in blue. That Sure Start program sounds just like the Head Start program here in the United States, a very good program indeed. Well done by the royal couple!
