The Investiture of the Prince of Wales at Caernarfon Castle in Wales on this day in 1911, the first of the modern Investiture Ceremonies in Wales. The Prince eventually became King Edward VIII, who abdicated within the year to marry Wallis Simpson and became the Duke of Windsor.
