Happy Birthday to the Duchess of Braganza, who turns 51 today! Born a member of the Portuguese nobility, she grew up between Portugal, Portuguese Angola, and Brazil and worked as an assets manager. In 1995, she married Duarte Pio, Duke of Braganza, the current pretender to the defunct Portuguese throne. The couple have three children, and enjoy a semi-official role in the Portuguese Republic, invited for ceremonial events, including State Banquets. The Duchess is also patron to many causes, especially linked to children, disabilities, and poverty. I wish HRH a very Happy Birthday and Many Happy Returns!
