Happy 5th Anniversary to Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie of Luxembourg, who got married on this day in 2012. In honour of the anniversary, we are taking a look back at the grand celebrations-
Countess Stephanie de Lannoy arrived at the Cathedrale de Notre-Dame in Luxembourg City and was escorted up the aisle by her oldest brother Count Jehan de Lannoy. Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume arrived with his mother, Grand Duchess Maria Theresa.
The ceremony, officiated by the Archbishop of Luxembourg, Jean-Claude Hollerich, included a minute of silence for the late Countess Alix de Lannoy, mother of the bride, who had died just months earlier. The wedding ceremony was followed by a Catholic mass, which was concluded with the Nuncio to Luxembourg reading a message by Pope Benedict XVI.
After the ceremony, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and the new Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie returned to the Grand Ducal Palace, where they waved to the crowd from the balcony, and even kissed.

Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume wore the Grande Tenue Uniform with the Grand Cross of the Order of the Gold Lion of the House of Nassau and the Order of the Oak Crown. Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie wore a couture ivory lace and silver thread Elie Saab gown with a silk tulle veil, the Lannoy Tiara, Grand Duchess Maria Theresa’s wedding earrings, and her late mother’s engagement ring as well as her own.
