Banquet at Nepalese Embassy, 1960

After a glittering State Banquet at Buckingham Palace, King Mahendra of Nepal hosted a Return Banquet at the Nepalese Embassy in London for the Queen and members of the Royal Family on this day in 1960, which was followed by a Gala Performance at Covent Garden the following evening.

Queen Elizabeth II wore the Girls of Great Britain & Ireland Tiara and Brazilian Aquamarine Parure with the Order of Ojaswi Rajanya. King Mahendra wore Uniform with Orders.

Queen Ratna wore her Diamond Tiara with a sapphire demi-parure and the Order of Om Rama Patta. She was accompanied by one of her step-daughters, who wore a diamond tiara and parure.

The Queen Mother wore the Oriental Circlet Tiara and Crown Ruby Parure with the Order of Ojaswi Rajanya. Princess Margaret wore the Cartier Halo Tiara and her Poltimore Tiara as a Necklace.

Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester wore the Iveagh Tiara with the Royal Victorian Order. Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent wore the Kent Festoon Tiara. Princess Alexandra wore a diamond necklace and earrings.
