The British Royal Family is also the Royal Family of Canada, and the country holds a special significance as the place most visited by the Queen. Happy Anniversary to Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, who got married on this day in 1978 in Vienna. When the Queen’s cousin married the Divorced Catholic Baroness Marie-Christine von Reibnitz, he forfeited his place in the line of succession, until 2013, when he was reinstated after the passing of the Succession to The Crown Act 2013.Prince and Princess Michael have two children and two grand children. Queen’s Young Leaders Awards Ceremony

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Harry hosted a ceremony and reception to present Awards to the 2017 Queen’s Young Leaders at Buckingham Palace on June 29th. The Queen’s Young Leaders Programme celebrates the achievements of inspiring young people from across the Commonwealth who are dedicated to driving change in their communities. The Queen was 26 years old when she became Head of the Commonwealth in 1952. This five year programme was launched in 2014 in honour of Her Majesty’s lifetime of service to the Commonwealth – a global network of 52 countries and 2.2 billion people, of whom 60 % are under 30 years old. Also present were the Duke of York, Princess Beatrice, and Duke of Gloucester.
