HRH The Duchess of Kent attended the 150th Ryedale Show at Welburn Park, North Yorkshire on July 26th. This was the first engagement for the elderly Duchess, married to a first cousin of the Queen, in many years. She retired from public duties in 2002 due to illness.
The Duchess was accompanied by her nephew, Sir William Worsley, Lord lieutenant of North Yorkshire, and was presented with a posy of flowers by Ebony Fairburn and Ella Leckenby, granddaughters of the show’s chairman and presidents, respectively.
The Duchess of Kent wore a tweed suit over a white blouse. She also wore a gold watch and bracelets, as well as a gold cross necklace. She carried a cream purse.
