Today marks the 90th Anniversary of the Birth of the late Princess Ragnhild of Norway, who was born on this day in 1930. The elder sister of King Harald, who married her former bodyguard and moved to Brazil, Princess Ragnhild possessed a variety of heirloom jewels, like today’s piece, Queen Maud’s Diamond Tiara.
Royal Families around Europe have been commemorating the 75th Anniversary of VE (Victory in Europe) Day, marking the end of the Second World War in Europe. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the celebrations are much changed than what was originally planned but still consisted of a variety of commemorations.

King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan hosted King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway on their State Visit to Jordan from March 2nd to the 4th, to celebrate and build diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties. This is the first Norwegian State Visit to the Middle East, 20 years after the Jordanian State Visit to Norway, as well as the 50th State Visit of King Harald’s Reign and the first official incoming visit to Jordan in King Abdullah’s reign.
