The lavish State Funeral of Prince Bernhard of The Netherlands at the Nieuwe Kerk in Delft on this day in 2004, after being transported from the Noordeinde Palace in The Hague on the undercarriage of a cannon, amidst military marches and the forming of guards of honour by Second World War veterans and a low flypast.

In addition to members of the extended Dutch Royal Family, Royal Guests and Relatives in attendance included King Albert II of Belgium, Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden, King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway, King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia of Spain, the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Henrik of Denmark, King Constantine II of Greece, Prince Hans Adam II of Liechtenstein, Prince Hassan and Princess Sarvath of Jordan, the Aga Khan, Crown Prince Kardam and Crown Princess Miriam of Bulgaria, the Duke of Bavaria, and the Landgrave of Hesse.
