Danish State Visit to France, 1950

King Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid of Denmark (wearing the Pearl Poiré Parure) depart the Paris Opera after a Gala Performance which followed a State Banquet at the Élysée Palace hosted by French President Vincent Auriol on this day in 1950, at the start of the Danish State Visit to France.

The following evening, King Frederik and Queen Ingrid (in Queen Sophia’s Star and Pearl Tiara and her Antique Corsage) were hosted by French Prime Minister Robert Schuman at the Quai d’Orsay. The couple returned to Paris for a Banquet the following year, and later undertook another State Visit to France in 1965.
