The Dutch Royal Family host the Nepalese Royal Family on their State Visit to The Netherlands on this day in 1967, the highlight of which was a Banquet hosted by Queen Juliana (wearing the Mellerio Ruby Tiara) and Prince Bernhard for King Mahendra (wearing the Order of the Netherlands Lion) and Queen Ratna (in her Emerald Tiara and the Order of the Netherlands Lion) at the Royal Palace of Amsterdam, which was also attended by Princess Margriet (wearing the Antique Pearl Tiara), Princess Shobha (in the Order of the House of Orange), Prince Gyanendra (wearing the Order of the House of Orange), Princess Christina (in the Laurel Wreath Tiara) and Pieter van Vollenhoven (wearing the Order of the House of Orange).

Following visits to gardens and a cruise, King Mahendra and Queen Ratna (in her Fred Diamond Tiara) hosted a Return Banquet for the Dutch Royal Family, notably Queen Juliana (wearing the Ears of Wheat Tiara) and Prince Bernhard. The visit was later interrupted when Queen Juliana rushed to bedside of her eldest daughter, when she gave birth to the now King Willem Alexander a few days later.
