Greek New Year’s Reception, 1966

King Constantine (in the Order of the Redeemer and the Order of Saints George and Constantine), Queen Anne Marie (wearing the Greek Emerald Parure Stomacher with the Order of the Redeemer), and Princess Irene (in the Order of Saints Olga and Sophia) attend the annual New Year’s Service at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens, followed by a Reception in Athens on this day in 1966. This was the last New Year’s Reception attended by Queen Anne Marie, as she was pregnant with Crown Prince Pavlos in 1967, and by the following year, the Royal Family were in exile.
