On the occasion of Fête du Roi / Koningsdag (King’s Day), the Belgian Royal Court has released new Official Portraits of King Philippe and Queen Mathilde, the first since their accession to the Throne in 2013.
King Philippe wore Uniform with the Sash and Star of the Order of Leopold. Queen Mathilde wore a repeated Armani gown with the Nine Provinces Tiara, diamond fringe earrings, her diamond floral bracelet, and the Sash and Star of the Order of Leopold.
Queen Mathilde’s dress is beautiful, but I don’t think it works well with the sash; the color competes with the color of the sash, and the bare shoulders don’t let it drape correctly.
