Princess of Wales in Pakistan, 1991

Happy 70th Pakistan Independence Day! Every year on August 14th (15th for India), Pakistan celebrates Independence from Britain. Though the Queen hasn’t been Queen of Pakistan since 1956, we are covering some of the royal visits to Pakistan today, including the Princess of Wales’ Official Visit to Pakistan in 1991 below-

On Day 1, the Princess of Wales visited a girls school and family welfare centre in Islamabad.

The next day, she was in Lahore, where the Princess visited the Badshahi Mosque and the Kinnaird College for Women. In the evening, she attended a reception and dinner in her honour in Lahore.

On the last day, the Princess visited the Khyber Rifles and the Chitral Scouts on a visit to the Northwest Frontier.
