Funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh
The entire British Royal Family and some special Foreign Royal Guests attended the Ceremonial Royal Funeral of HRH Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on April 17th. The oldest and longest serving Consort to the longest-reigning Monarch in British History, the Duke passed away peacefully last week at Windsor Castle a few months before his 100th Birthday, and was heavily involved in the planning of his own Funeral, though they have been modified due to the ongoing Pandemic.
Queen’s Christmas Lunch at Buckingham Palace
The Queen hosted her annual Christmas Lunch for members of the extended British Royal Family at Buckingham Palace on December 18th. This lunch is held for those family members who aren’t invited to spend Christmas with the Queen at Sandringham in Norfolk, due to lack of space. Since this is a private event, we only get pictures of the royals arriving and departing. Continue reading
Christie’s Property from Descendants of King George V and Queen Mary- 13 December 2019
Christie’s is auctioning ‘Property from Descendants of King George V and Queen Mary’ in London tomorrow, featuring objects which belonged to Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester and Princess Mary, Princess Royal and Countess of Harewood, and are being sold by the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester (who are downsizing from their home at Kensington Palace) and the Earl of Harewood. Comprising 317 lots, the sale includes a wide array of decorative arts from furniture and ceramics to objects of vertu, silver and glass, alongside clocks, books and paintings, and we are only featuring some of the highlights from the sale. Royal Festival of Remembrance 2019
State Opening of Parliament 2019
The Queen, accompanied by the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, presided over the Official Opening of the Session of Parliament in the Chamber of the House of Lords at the Palace of Westminster in London on October 14th. This is the first ‘full dress’ State Opening of Parliament since 2016.
