King Farouk of Egypt hosted a Banquet to celebrate the Wedding of Crown Prince Mohammad Reza Pahlavi of Iran and his sister, Princess Fawzia of Egypt (wearing her Van Cleef & Arpels Tiara and Necklace) at the Abdeen Palace in Cairo on this day in 1939. Royal attendees included Queen Farida (in her Art Deco Floral Tiara) and Queen Mother Nazli (in her Van Cleef & Arpels Parure) among the extended Egyptian Royal Family and Royal Court. There was also another Banquet hosted by King Farouk before the Egyptian and Iranian Royal Families travelled to Tehran for the continuation of the wedding festivities.
