The Funeral of Queen Astrid of Belgium at the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula in Brussels on this day in 1935, followed by the Burial in the Royal Vault at the Church of Our Lady of Laeken. Queen Astrid died in a tragic car accident in Switzerland, at the age of 29. Royal Guests and Relatives at the Funeral included the Prince Carl and Princess Ingeborg of Sweden (parents), Crown Prince Gustaf Adolf of Sweden (cousin), Crown Prince Olav and Crown Princess Martha of Norway (sister), and the Duke of York (cousin).
