Funeral of Jean, Countess of Carnarvon

The Queen was among the attendees at the Funeral of her late friend Jean, the Dowager Countess of Carnarvon at the Highclere Parish Church of Saint Michaels and All Angels on April 25th, near the Family Seat at Highclere Castle. A granddaughter of the 8th Earl of Portsmouth, she was born and raised in Wyoming, and married Lord Porchester, the then Heir to the Earldom of Carnarvon and the Queen’s long-time racing manager, in 1956, who succeeded to the Earldom in 1987. The couple had three children, including the current Earl and Lady Carolyn Warren, whose husband is the Queen’s current racing manager.
