The Queen (wearing the loaned Plunket Tiara after her initial Tiara broke en route, Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee Necklace and the Order of the Garter) and and the Duke of Edinburgh attend the ‘Fanfare For Europe’ Gala Concert at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden on this day in 1973, to celebrate Britain’s entry into the EEC (now the European Union).
