  1. so sad the family has decided to sold this collection, which is not one of the most princely collections of all… I am a fond admirer of princess natalie romanova de’ palej… selling the jewels is a disgrace,

  2. While this or a sister article refers to Princesse Natalia as Mrs. Wilson as she became, it leaves out her interim marriage (“blanche”) with Parisian couturier Lucian LeLong. The princesse appears to have felt most comfortable in concert in one relationship or another with homosexual men (and Kathrine Hepburn). Many years ago when I was still a member of the Russian Nobility Association, I read a book which at the much earlier time when it was written appeared to recognize that when the Princesse was a young girl, the exigencies of the terrible Revolutionary period placed her at some point in the hands of the Bolshies who may likely have mistreated this innocent and isolated Princesse, leading to a later psychological and emotional life devoid of normal female sexuality. The Revolution to my mind had as its leaders’ main goal, the transference of the wealth and assets from one group to another. I often try to recall the name of the former imperial owner of the palace North of Moscow where Lenin made his home.
