The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall started their day by visiting the new Canadian History Hall at the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau, Quebec. They celebrated the sesquicentennial with Canadians at the Canadian Museum of History and marked the opening of the new Canadian History Hall. The Prince and Duchess then toured the hall, met with youth from diverse backgrounds to hear their perspectives of what Canada means for them today, engaged with young women affecting change in their community, and heard the stories of new Canadians and those working to support them. The Prince of Wales had an audience with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at Rideau Hall, and was later presented with the Order of Canada by Governor General David Johnston. Later, at the site of Reconciliation, The Peacekeeping Monument, in Ottawa, the Prince of Wales participates in an inspection of the guard. A 21-gun salute was fired.

  1. The celebrations marking the 150th Canada Day looked wonderful. And thank you for all the great retrospectives of royal Canadian tours of the past as well.

    1. I’m glad you appreciated my efforts! Those tour posts haven’t done as well as most other posts, but it was worth it to put them together!
