Princess Anne was on a nine-day visit to the United States, arriving in Denver on this day in 1982, on a visit that also included visits to Colorado Springs, Santa Fe, the pueblos of San Ildefonso and Taos, and Houston. The Princess began her visit at the Governor’s Mansion and had a variety of engagements, including a tour of a children’s ward at a Hospital and visits to multiple ranches.

Princess Anne (in her Modern Diamond Necklace and the Royal Victorian Order) attended a Gala Dinner at the Kimball Ranch but the highlight was the Gala Dinner hosted by the Princess (wearing Princess Andrew’s Meander Tiara) by the Denver Chapter of the English Speaking Union.
