The Queen (wearing the George VI Sapphire Parure and Prince Albert’s Sapphire Brooch) and Duke of Edinburgh hosted a Dinner in honour of President Jack F. Kennedy and First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy at Buckingham Palace on this day in 1961, during their Official Visit to the United Kingdom. Other Royal and Noble attendees included Princess Margarita and the Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg, Earl Mountbatten of Burma, the Earl and Countess of Westmorland, the Earl and Countess of Scarborough, Lord and Lady Brabourne, Lord and Lady Porchester, and Lord Plunket.

Both ladies looked very excellent! They were two of the most attractive couples around at the time. Two handsome men and two beautiful women- what’s not to like!
