The Norwegian Royal Family celebrated Constitution Day, the National Day of Norway, on May 17th by greeting the annual Children’s Parade in Asker from Skaugum (residence of the Crown Princely family) and another from the balcony of the Royal Palace of Oslo. Princess Ingrid Alexandra is part of the graduating class this year, and was thus celebrating with her classmates and friends and not joining the Royal Family to greet the Children’s Parades.

Italian State Visit to Norway
The Norwegian Royal Family are hosting Italian President Sergio Mattarella and his daughter, Laura Mattarella, who are on a State Visit to Norway on May 11th and 12th, to celebrate and build diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties following the last Norwegian State Visit to Italy in 2016. King Harald V is in Hospital, so Crown Prince Regent Haakon is hosting the State Visit on the King’s behalf.

Royalty and Heads of State from around the world have gathered to join the British Royal Family for the spectacular Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Westminster Abbey on May 6th, which is the first British Coronation in 70 years. The Ceremony follows the King’s Accession Council in September as well as a Reception for Royalty and Heads of State at Buckingham Palace.

On the eve of the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla, the British Royal Family hosted a Reception at Buckingham Palace for Foreign Royalty and Heads of State who are in London to attend the Coronation. Earlier, the Royal Family hosted a Reception for Realm Governors General and Commonwealth Prime Minsters.

Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway are on an Official Visit to the United Kingdom to celebrate the close relationship between Norwegians and Britons. Funeral of King Constantine II of Greece
Royal Guests from around the world joined the Greek Royal Family for the the Funeral of King Constantine II of Greece at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Athens at noon on January 16th, which will be followed by the Burial in the Royal Cemetery at Tatoi Palace. The former King Constantine II was an Olympic Gold Medalist before becoming the Sovereign for nine years and then being exiled for over 40 years, returning to Greece only a decade ago. The Norwegian Royal Family attended the annual Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony in Oslo on December 10th. While the other Noble Prizes are awarded by King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, only the Peace Prize is awarded in Oslo. Continue reading
