Princess Aiko of Japan, the only daughter of Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako, marked her Coming-of-Age, 20th Birthday, with a series of ceremonies at the Imperial Palace of Tokyo yesterday, wearing an Evening Gown, a Tiara, and the Order of the Precious Crown for the first time for her Coming-of-Age Audience with her parents, the Emperor and Empress. Instead of a new Tiara and Parure traditionally given to Japanese Princesses for the past two decades, due to the Pandemic, Princess Aiko is borrowing a Mikimoto Diamond Tiara from her aunt, the former Princess Sayako, which we are featuring today! Wedding of Princess Mako

Princess Mako of Akishino, the eldest daughter of Crown Prince Akishino and Crown Princess Kiko, married Kei Komuro with an official from the Imperial Household Agency registering the marriage on their behalf with the municipal government, followed by a Press Conference at a Hotel in Tokyo on October 26th. The Wedding took place without without any associated Imperial rites, due to the controversy of the match, and Princess Mako was seen off by her parents and younger sister Princess Kako as she departed Tōgū Palace, leaving behind her title and all vestiges of her Imperial life, and becoming Mrs Mako Komuro. Princess Mako’s Diamond Tiara

Happy Birthday to Princess Mako of Akishino, who turns 30 today! The elder daughter of the Japanese Crown Prince and Crown Princess, Princess Mako is also the eldest grandchild of the former Emperor Akihito and is set to leave her royal titles when she controversially marries Kei Komuro next week.
